Title II Report

2003-2004

 

Summary:

 

During the 2003-2004 academic year, 1520 teacher education students enrolled in courses at Iowa State University, including 380 who student taught. Every student teacher completed 35-40 hours of supervised activities each week. Student teaching experiences for early childhood, elementary, and English education students, as well as for those seeking K-12 licensure, lasted 16 weeks. Student teaching experiences for secondary education students lasted 12 weeks. Sixty eight trained supervisors worked with student teachers for a ratio of 1 supervisor for every 5.58 students. The Iowa State University Teacher Education Program is fully accredited by the Iowa Department of Education.
