University Teacher Education Program

UTEP Modules

The University Teacher Education Program Office monitors the progress of teacher education students during three checkpoints: admission, student teaching and licensure. The UTEP office has created modules for students to view in order to provide clarity on the checkpoints.

Students who have received a background check (occurs before initial placement in schools) are expected to review these five modules prior to checkpoint 1 (admission to UTEP):

Welcome

David Whaley, Associate Dean, will provide you with a welcome to the University Teacher Education Program.

Admission

Hina Patel, Associate Director, will provide you with information on admission requirements and the UTEP database.

Field Experiences

Gayle Huey, Director of Field Experiences, will provide you with information on your involvement with PK-12 schools.

Licensure

Linda Reindl, Teacher Licensure Analyst, will provide you with information on how to earn teacher licensure.

Career Services

Carolyn Ersland, CHS Career Services Coordinator, will provide you with information on how to prepare for the teaching profession.

 

Students who have completed checkpoint 1 (admission to UTEP) are expected to review this module prior to checkpoint 2 (request for student teaching placement):

Field Experiences

Gayle Huey, Director of Field Experiences, will provide you with information on your involvement with PK-12 schools as a student teacher.

 

Students who have completed checkpoint 2 (request for student teaching placement) are expected to view these two modules before checkpoint 3 (licensure):

Career Services: Part 2
